After 3.5 years of work, I self-published the Texas Dive Bar Encyclopedia. The 372-page hardcover features more than 1,000 photos, hit #1 in multiple Amazon Best Seller categories, and was named Best New Book by an Austin Writer by The Austin Chronicle.
This project was a tremendous learning experience that spawned an iOS app and a social media community of 150,000 followers (and counting). A special edition was later traditionally published by Johnny Vacay.
I am the creator of Alley Connoisseur, a zine dedicated to chronicling the strange and mysterious world of alleys. Alley Connoisseur has appeared on DCist, Gapers Block, and Roctober, as well as local bookstore shelves in Chicago. I am the creator of Godspeed Supper Club, an underground dining club that visits secret locations around Chicago. Godspeed Supper Club has more than 2,000 email subscribers and was featured in Eater, CARA Magazine, Thrillist, Purewow, and Splash, among others. I was invited by the Polish Modern Art Foundation to stay as an artist-in-residence at the Keret House, which is an art installation that also happens to be the narrowest house in the world. During my time there, I explored Warsaw and photographed its void spaces. Check out some of my photos below.
